1975-76
In April '75 my first daughter was born. In June I completed my MFA work at the University of Washington. I moved to Vashon Island, WA, and began commuting by bus/ferry to downtown Seattle where I worked at Triangle Studios with Bill Ritchie and a number of my ex-student colleagues–Norie Sato, Nancy Mee, Sherry Markovitz–from the UW.

My MFA degree was in video and printmaking. Our graduation show was at the Seattle Art Museum, which at that time was located at the Seattle Center. My thesis work was divided between short video works and a series of collagraph prints. While at the UW and later at Triangel Studios I made etchings, drypoints, lithographs, drawings, and paintings, as well as explored themes of humor, documentation, artifacts, stamps, and weaving which would later mature into major works in the 80's and 90's.
